The Diss and District Junior Championships was held at Harleston High School on Monday the 8th February.
This is a summary of the event and the results held at Archbishop Sandcroft High School, Harleston.
Great attendance (27 competitors) and great championships.
U11’s
Competitors:
Group A: Santos Ledesma, Oscar Skilleter & Jacob Hobbs.
Group B:Thomas Taylor, Morgan Eastick & Benji Filmer
Semi Finals: Santos and Morgan won the groups and faced the runner ups, Benji and Oscar in Semi Finals. Santos won in two straight sets 11-4 & 11-9. Morgan beat Oscar 11-3, 11-6.
Final: In the final Morgan had too much for Santos and won 11-3, 11-4.
Winner: Morgan Eastick

U14’s
Straight Knockout competition:
Competitors: Harry Skilleter, Corey Thurston, Isabel Byram, Holly Weller, Keiran Eastick, Todd Chapman, Dominic Pearce, Elliot Chapman, Alfie Filmer, Jack Bettinson, James Taylor & Charlie Norman
Semi Finals: Keiran meet newcomer Cory, in close fought game, but league player Keiran ran out winning it 12-10, 11-7. In the other semi final, James played Jack, in another close game that went to 3 sets, James nicking it 11-7, 6-11, 11-8.
Final: James worked his magic and came winning 11-8, 11-8
Winner: James Taylor

U18’s
Competitors:
Group A: Natty Strange, Bradley Ashford, Ben Wales & Tom Bloomfield
Group B: Angus Ledesma, Tim Simms-Baalham, Ben Miles & Marcus Cooper
Semi Finals: Winner of Group A Tim took on R-up Tom in a very close game. Tim won 15-13, 12-10. Group B winner Natty beat Marcus 11-7, 11-2
Final: In a bit of an upset (as Natty has beaten Tim in the league this year), Tim won 11-9, 11-9
Winner: Tim Simms-Baalham

We had an increase in numbers yet again, I make it 27 players. There was a good cross section of ages and finally some girls turned up!!
Hopefully the players we haven’t seen before may come to Dickleburgh or Diss on a regular basis.
